Have you ever pulled your EV up the one charger in a small town, only to watch as another driver plugs in? You can almost see the experience in slow motion.
You feel the crushing defeat as you wonder just how long you’ll have to wait for their car to finish. Will they charge long enough for you to take a coffee break, a lunch break, or should you give up and get a hotel?
Even though your car’s app will tell you how long it takes to charge your car, there’s no way to find out how long the other car will occupy the charger. Well, we’re here to rescue you from your uncertain charging future. With EV Charge Timer for Android, you can now predict with best in class accuracy how long you can expect to wait.
The magic of EV Charge Timer

EV Charge Timer asks you three simple questions. Then it magically predicts how long you can expect to wait for the other driver to reach 80% and 100% charge. Choose the model of car that’s charging and the type of charger from drop-down menus. Then move the slider to the percentage of charge currently displayed on the charger screen. EV Charge Timer then tells you when to expect the other car to reach 80% and 100% levels.
Sure, there will be some drivers who don’t move their car when the battery is full, but you can usually count on most people to unplug at 80% since cars dramatically slow their charge rate after 80%. EV Charge Timer is mindful of the lower charge rate between 81% and 100%, and adjusts the 100% time accordingly.
The development team has tested the app at various high-voltage DC EV chargers, and in most cases, the estimate has been within two minutes of the time when driver actually unplugs.
The best part is that EV Charge Timer is familiar with the charging profiles of more than 140 vehicle models, and 19 different charger models, with new models of each being added as we learn about them.
The app is very close to launch!
